These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of retronica at retroni.ca (the "Service"). By using the Service — and especially by signing in to comment — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or post comments. By signing in, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account

Commenting requires signing in through a supported provider (currently Google). You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. We do not store your provider password; authentication is handled by the provider and by Amazon Cognito.

3. Comments & acceptable use

When you post a comment, you agree not to submit content that:

• is unlawful, harassing, hateful, threatening, or defamatory;
• is sexually explicit, or exploits or endangers minors;
• infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
• is spam, advertising, or deceptive; or
• attempts to disrupt, attack, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.

Comments are reviewed by automated moderation and may be hidden, removed, or held for review. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the comments you post. By posting, you grant retronica a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute your comment on the Service in connection with the relevant article. You are solely responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the right to post it.

5. Our content

The site's articles, design, logos, and other materials are owned by retronica or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy or reuse them without permission, except as allowed by law.

6. Deleting your account

You can delete your account and all of your comments at any time from your account page. We may also remove content or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, and we are not responsible for the content of user-submitted comments.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, retronica will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which retronica operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. (To be finalized for your operating jurisdiction.)

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do; continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
